Magic Day at the Tennis Center

Great weather has made tennis training and practice very enjoyable and the above picture ( left to right) Geraldine Prisk,Annabel Ellis and Gabrielle Grady pictured catching the magic of the afternoon in South Canterbury.

The New Zealand 14s girls team has met stiff competition and will playoff for minor placing in the Oceania leg of the World Junior Tennis Competition - Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying in China.Australia will be hard to beat with promising junior Ashleigh Barty from Australia leading the way.Barty who is still only 13 recently won the Australian International Grade 4 ITF in Queensland defeating New Zealand's Emily Fanning 7-5 6-1.As I have said before ITF points are often inflated and sometimes irrelevant.Barty was unseeded for this event.Barty in winning defeated the 10th ,2nd and 4th seed for the title.
