Francesca Schiavone(ITA)[17] vs. Elena Dementieva(RUS)[5]

I am going for the flare of Schiavone against the predictable game of Dementieva.Francesca has really worked on her fitness and this is showing through in her matches. It of course will be a major upset but then there has been a few lately.

Samantha Stosur(AUS)[7] vs. Jelena Jankovic(SRB)[4]
The giant killer has beaten the two pre tournament favorites in her last two matches. Can she do it again , this will be a far different match up with Jankovic.Stosur has the power , Jankovic has the consistency .Stotsur will have to be aggressive .but will also have to wait for the right ball to put away.Not only will she have to deal with the moment of making her first grand slam final after beating Henin and Williams she has to deal with starting Favorite.This is the match Stosur has to win to show us how much she has improved. Beating the previous "stars" of the games will be to no avail.Beating Jankovic is a must.For me if she does this then I can say I'm really going to take Stosur serious from now on!

Novak Djokovic left us yesterday after blowing a big lead.What goes on in that head?. I havnt a clue either as he had the match won and somehow let Melzer off the hook leading two sets to love and a break!There of course was controversy with some bad over rules from the chair during the match.



An interesting Match up in the Junior Boys singles today also between Gianni Mina(FRA)[3] vs. James Duckworth(AUS) Duckworth is unseeded and Mina played Nadal first round in the Main draw. Second seed and now World number 1 junior Aussie Jason Kubler crashed out second round.We saw Mina compete against Nadal and will be interesting to see how Duckworth goes against him.
